“THE GREATEST POWER IN THE WORLD”

“THE DEMONSTRATION OF FAITH”

HEBREWS 11:4-7

True Bible faith is confident obedience to God’s Word in spite of feelings, circumstances and consequences.

The best way to grow in faith is to walk with the faithful. We have the lives and labors of great men and women of faith found in the Old Testament.

1.   Abel- The Way of Faith- Faith Worshipping- Hebrews 11:4

Genesis 4:1-10

Abel was a righteous man because of faith.

Matthew 23:35 “that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel….”

Cain was not a child of God- 1 John 3:12 “not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.”

Because he did not have faith, he was religious but not righteous.

Listen to the witness of Cain- Genesis 4:13 “And Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is greater than I can bear!”

Listen to the witness of Abel- Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”

Which witness will you receive? The way of faith- it is the blood sprinkled way, the way that is Christ. Hebrews 9:22 “And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.”

The way of Cain- religious, but not righteous, it’s the easy way, the popular way, the way of the world.

Jude 11 “Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.”

2.   Enoch- The Walk of Faith- Hebrews 11:5-6

Genesis 5:19-24

Our faith in Christ grows as we fellowship with Him.

Enoch’s walk pleased God because he walked by faith, not by rules and regulations.

Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Enoch pleased God. How did he do it? By faith.

Walking- “walk in the spirit” Galatians 5:16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

“Walk in love” Ephesians 5:2 “And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”

“Walk in light” 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?”

Enoch walked with God because he agreed with God.

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”

Malachi 2:6 “The law of truth was in his mouth, And injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and equity, And turned many away from iniquity.”

Who are you living to please?

Please God- John 8:29 “And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”

3.   Noah- The Witness of Faith- Faith Working- Hebrews 11:7

Genesis 6:5-9

Noah’s faith involved the whole person:

Matthew 24:36-42

2 Peter 2:5 “and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;”

Noah’s faith was total faith

Is your faith total faith?

The Ark- 450 feet long, three decks, 300 cub. length= 450 ft. long, 50 cub. wide= 75 ft. wide, 30 cub. high= 45 ft. high

Noah’s faith inherited the whole blessing. God rewards those who trust Him and diligently obey Him. Hebrews 11:7

Noah’s life began and ended by faith.

God’s power is released through God’s promises, when you exercise faith!
