“ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE?”

“PREVENTING SPIRITUAL HEART DISEASE”

COLOSSIANS 2:1-3

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep your heart with all diligence,

For out of it spring the issues of life.”

Are you as concerned about your spiritual heart as you are your physical heart?

Let’s consider our spiritual heart:

Luke 21:26 “Men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”

Colossians 2:1-3 “For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, 2that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

Three Things About Our Spiritual Hearts:

1.   A Healthy Heart Is A Burdened Heart.

Colossians 2:1 “For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh.”

Paul had a burdened heart- “For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you…” vs.1

Philippians 1:30 “Having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.”

Two things for having a healthy heart: You must use it.

*Learn to eat right.

*Get exercise.

How is your diet and workout spiritually?

2.   A Healthy Heart Is A Comforted Heart.

Colossians 2:2 “That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.”

It is a heart that is at peace with God, others and self. Paul’s desire is that you might have a comforted heart.

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.”

We can’t have a comforted heart without being involved in the lives of others.

2 Corinthians 1:3-7

We want to say God I love You, but I can’t stand Your body-the Church- “being knit together in love” vs.2

We will never have a healthy heart until we love others, and get along with others. We cannot get by on our own, we need others.

3.   A Healthy Heart Is A Confident Heart.

Colossians 2:2-3 “and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

“All”, and “full”

Can you give a reason for the hope that is in you?

You must be “full of assurance”

“Mystery of God” vs.2- something that was hidden but is now revealed and understood.

Colossians 1:27 “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Christ in you, the hope of glory!

Do you want a healthy heart?

Are you eating right and exercising?

Colossians 2:3 “In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

Proverbs 2:1-6

Wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
